Asbestos Awareness Training
Training Overview
The objective of this training is to provide participants with the knowledge and awareness needed to understand all aspects of asbestos abatement, including safe work practices, regulatory requirements and risk reduction.
The required content of this course is outlined in Schedule B of the Newfoundland and Labrador Asbestos Abatement Regulations, 1998.
After completion of this course, the participant will be able to assist a trained asbestos supervisor during abatement.
Training Duration: one day
Expiry: three years
Cost: $160 plus HST per participant

This course is designed for workers who may come into contact with asbestos-containing materials as part of their job duties, including those involved in:
Construction, renovation or demolition projects
Maintenance, custodial and repair work
Asbestos abatement or removal activities
Anyone performing work connected to asbestos abatement is required to complete this one day Asbestos Awareness Training through a recognized provider, ensuring compliance and protecting both workers and the public.

The approved ratio for training is one trained supervisor (three-day program) for every five trained workers (one-day program).
