We are currently seeking an Intermediate Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys working with a variety of clients, solving complex workplace challenges, and making a meaningful impact on workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
As an Intermediate OH&S Consultant, you will:
Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety programs for clients across a range of industries
Provide expert guidance and advisory services on workplace OH&S matters
Ensure client workplaces comply with applicable provincial, federal, and marine OH&S legislation
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and gap analyses
Assist organizations in meeting PRIME and/or COR certification requirements
Support the development and delivery of OH&S training programs for clients and external organizations
Provide technical support to Mercer Safety’s Industrial Hygiene Services team
Prepare reports, recommendations, and documentation related to safety programs and compliance
Build strong relationships with clients while supporting their safety culture and performance
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the company through additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
Several years of experience working in occupational health and safety
Strong knowledge of provincial and/or federal OH&S legislation
Experience supporting or managing safety programs in industry
Experience with PRIME and/or COR certification compliance is considered an asset
Excellent communication, training, and client relationship skills
Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects
Ability to complete travel assignments, and work flexible hours (evenings and weekends are a possibility)
Professional Development
