We are currently seeking an Intermediate Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys working with a variety of clients, solving complex workplace challenges, and making a meaningful impact on workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

As an Intermediate OH&S Consultant, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety programs for clients across a range of industries

  • Provide expert guidance and advisory services on workplace OH&S matters

  • Ensure client workplaces comply with applicable provincial, federal, and marine OH&S legislation

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and gap analyses

  • Assist organizations in meeting PRIME and/or COR certification requirements

  • Support the development and delivery of OH&S training programs for clients and external organizations

  • Provide technical support to Mercer Safety’s Industrial Hygiene Services team

  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and documentation related to safety programs and compliance

  • Build strong relationships with clients while supporting their safety culture and performance

  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the company through additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field

  • Several years of experience working in occupational health and safety

  • Strong knowledge of provincial and/or federal OH&S legislation

  • Experience supporting or managing safety programs in industry

  • Experience with PRIME and/or COR certification compliance is considered an asset

  • Excellent communication, training, and client relationship skills

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects

  • Ability to complete travel assignments, and work flexible hours (evenings and weekends are a possibility)

Professional Development
