Training Overview
Proper traffic control is essential to protect workers, drivers and the public. It is required whenever traffic must be safely directed through or around highway, street or utility work zones. In some cases, construction or maintenance activities may also require the presence of a Traffic Control Person (TCP).
This course teaches participants standardized methods for implementing traffic control procedures to maximize safety and minimize disruption for both motorists and workers.
Training Duration: one day
Assessment: quiz and practical examination
Expiry: three years
Cost: $150.00 plus HST per participant

In Newfoundland and Labrador, anyone working as a Flag Person or Traffic Control Person must complete a WorkplaceNL-accredited Traffic Control Person Training course.
This training ensures workers understand their responsibilities, follow safe traffic management practices and comply with provincial regulations.
