Training Overview

Occupational Health and Safety First Aid Regulations, Section 5, states: “Where 15 or more but less than 200 workers are engaged on one shift, an employer shall ensure that there is (a) at least one worker who holds a valid standard first aid certificate unless an officer directs that a higher certificate is necessary…”

Training Duration: two days

Expiry: three years

Cost: $295.00 plus HST per participant

  • This St. John Ambulance-accredited program is intended for any person that may need to respond to a medical or emergency situation in their workplace.

    • Roles and responsibilities of the first aider

    • Casualty management – unresponsive

    • Casualty management – responsive – head/spinal

    • artificial respiration – adult/child/infant

    • Enhanced adult/child resuscitation

    • Two Rescuer CRP – Adult

    • Infant resuscitation

    • Severe bleeding

    • Medical conditions

    • Secondary survey

    • Wound care

    • Burns

    • Eye injuries

    • Bone and joint injuries

    • Chest injuries

    • Poisoning

    • Heat and cold injuries

    • Rescue carries
