Training Overview

This is mandatory training for workplaces that employ 20 or more employees. Its purpose is to give OH&S committee members the knowledge they require to fulfill their duties and responsibilities under the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

Prerequisite: OH&S Committee/WH&S Representative and Designate Certification: Level 1

Committee members are responsible for:

• Monitoring OH&S in the workplace;

• Being ambassadors, role models, and mentors of health and safety in the workplace;

• Playing a major role in developing and sustaining a positive health and safety culture in the workplace in conjunction with workers and employers; and

• Promoting occupational health & safety awareness in the workplace.

Training Duration: two days

Expiry: three years

Cost: $150.00 plus HST per participant ($260.00 plus HST for Level 1 & 2 combined)
